The Mountain View School Division International Student Program is always looking for welcoming families that have an interest in hosting a student from another country in their home. If you wish to provide your family with a global experience and would like to join our wonderful community of homestay families, please click the link to read more.

Parent Information Night In a unique fashion, parents will receive 15-20 minute informational sessions on the crucial topics affecting our students today. Free childcare will be provided at the school. Coffee and snacks available. Topics will include: Student Anxiety, Vaping, Collapse of Parenting, Social Media/Exploration, and Post Secondary Options. March 5th, 7:00 pm @ GPCI

Mountain View School Division will be holding a Public Budget Forum to present and discuss information relevant to the 2019-2020 Operating Budget. A presentation related to the division’s operations will be followed with an opportunity for discussion.

Those interested in participating in this Forum can attend at the Administration Office Conference Room in Dauphin. In addition, the Forum will be streamed for public viewing and participation through the school division website at www.mvsd.ca.

The Forum will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 4, 2019. The Board of Trustees encourages and appreciates your attendance.

Gilbert Plains Elementary School students made over 85 hand-made Valentine’s Day cards to send to veterans who are in long-term care facilities across Canada.

The MVSD Board of Trustees is seeking applications for nomination for the Manitoba School Boards Association (MSBA) Student Citizenship Award.  The George Harbottle Memorial Award, sponsored by the Association of Manitoba Municipalities (AMM), will be selected from amongst the regional MSBA Student Citizenship award winners.  Applications must be received by the MVSD Board of Trustees by January 25, 2019 to be considered for nomination to MSBA. Click on the above link for details!

Tenley Ilnisky, Grade 11 student at Gilbert Plains Collegiate, was one of approximately 450 students from across the country selected to participate in the Forum program, which brings students to Ottawa for an intensive academic adventure that immerses them in the exciting world of national politics and public affairs. The Manitoba Association of Parent Councils (MAPC) is holding a FREE special event for school-based parent councils on Sat., Nov. 24, 2018 in Winnipeg. Registration is limited to two (2) parents per PAC and accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Contact your school's Parent Council Chair to coordinate attendance from your school. Students from Gilbert Plains Elementary School and Gilbert Plains Collegiate will participate in a Remembrance Day Service at the Gilbert Plains Elementary School gymnasium on Friday, November 9th at 10:45 a.m. Parents and community members are welcome to attend the service.
