Conflict Managers

Starting in December students in grades five to eight will be trained to act as conflict managers for our younger students. After completion of the conflict resolution training, as part of our school-wide guidance education, students will be partnered up and heading out to our early years’ yard at the 10:30am and 2:00pm recess breaks. Our middle years students have been reviewing conflict management techniques and strategies that they will be able to share with the younger students. This program has been implemented to help promote student-led conflict resolution. Students in grades five and six will be heading out for their shifts in December and we hope to have the junior high students join them starting in January. We hope that this will also contribute to meeting our third school goal of having all students participate in contributing to a positive learning environment.
